The most important issue for NTA members today is the Pension Amendment fight. Please pay attention, take action and talk to your families about the importance of all those who paid into the pension system to get what they paid for. Grab your red shirt and attend the rally at the Statehouse in Trenton, Monday -August 8, 2016 from 11:00am-2:00pm. All of our fellow NJEA locals will be represented as well as other Union brothers and sisters in this same fight.
…And from now until we get a Pension solution we need you to support this fight by calling, emailing and visiting local legislators and neighbors and friends. Keep visiting the Vote NJ Pension website daily for updates and links to do your part to preserve our pension.
“Post the bill, pass the bill!”
Published on Wednesday, August 3, 2016
Hundreds of NJEA members descended on Senate President Steve Sweeney’s West Deptford office to urge him to keep the promise he made to NJEA members five months ago. After jamming the phone lines of his office on the previous day, members went to his office to ensure that their voices were heard.
Wearing red and carrying signs that sent strong messages to Sweeney, members spent two full hours making their demands known. Chants of “post the bill, pass the bill, “You say cut back, we say fight back,” and “No pensions, no peace” made it clear that NJEA members were not going to stand by idly while the funding failure threatening their pensions remains unaddressed.
